Christmas traditions
Posted on December 06 2021
Christmas is a time for traditions, new and old. So now that we are well in to December, we are listing some of our favourite Christmassy traditions that don't cost a fortune. Have you ticked any off already?
🎄 Put up the decorations together as a family - this one goes without saying. Dust off that box of Christmas decorations, plump the Christmas cushions and hang up the baubles (we've linked our favourites for you to see).
🎄 Write a letter to Santa - Christmas is a magical time of year for the little ones. So whilst they wait for his arrival tell them to write a letter to Father Christmas (it'll keep them occupied for an afternoon and who knows, maybe he'll write one back).
🎄 Drive around and look at the pretty Christmas lights around your neighbourhood or visit a nearby Christmas market.
🎄 Have a Christmas movie marathon with a tasty hot chocolate in your personalised mug - and yes, we will be sharing our favourite Christmas films so keep an eye on our Instagram stories..
🎄 Family board game night - although it might be a good idea to avoid any that will cause an argument and ruin Christmas (we're talking about you Monopoly)
🎄 Decorate gingerbread houses and bake Christmas goodies.
🎄 Leave some treats out for Santa to enjoy on our lovely Personalised Santa Wooden Board.
🎄 Matching Christmas pyjamas with the family/your partner. And don't forget a cute outfit for the dog!
🎄 Have a festive photoshoot with all your loved ones. They'll probably hate it but it'll make a lovely Christmas card.
And lastly, our favourite new tradition:
🎄 Christmas Eve boxes - a fun way to build up the excitement for Santa's visit. Pack it with festive treats and surprises to make the night before even more magical.
Whether the kids have one each or you share a box as a family, we're full of ideas to start the celebrations early so here's just a few to get you started: a new pair of Christmas PJ's and matching fluffy socks, their favourite chocolates or sweets, a book or some DIY crafts.
