We all know that the pressure to have an amazing Easter Holiday is strong but money is tight so we've got some cracking (excuse the pun!) ideas on how to create a bit of Easter fun that won't cost anything.
Easter Egg Hunt
I know, a bit obvious, but you can really create a fun DIY Easter Egg Hunt, which is free, quick, easy and uses AI (in a fun way!). Start by thinking about where you want to hide clues - I picked spaces such as the washing machine, bird feeder and in the car. Give ChatGPT an idea of the age of the children involved, ask it to create rhyming clues and you get some brilliant results. If you want to make it even easier, ask ChatGPT to create 10 clues for around the house. Print off or write the clues and set the kids off.
Paint Eggs
So not entirely a free activity but you can use the eggs to cook and entertain the kids. Hard boil eggs and leave them to cool. When they are absolutely cooled you can dye them using food colouring. I personally use child safe marker pens (because I don't love the mess of paints) to decorate the eggs with the kids. When you're done, you can break off the shell, give the eggs a quick wash and use them in a sandwich.
Easter Films
Lets be honest, TV is going to be a big part of the Easter Holidays so make it an activity. Create a movie marathon featuring family-friendly classics or Easter-themed films. To keep the costs down, coincide the movie marathon with lunch or theme a snack around going to the cinema.
Library
We're a big fan of books in our household so we regularly go to the Library. Its free, we can pop to the park at the same time and generally, they have some great activities laid out. Its not everyone's cup of tea but if you check out the local council website, they will have a list of free activities available.
Playdates
This might be an obvious one but we're all busy parents and this is a nice free activity that helps another parent out with childcare and entertains your own.
This isn't a comprehensive list but I hope it creates some realistic and free ideas for the Easter Holidays.
